Harbor View Vacation Rental in Exuma

This vacation rental experience was excellent

“This vacation rental experience was excellent. Traveled to Exuma with my 14 yr old son in March/22.

Before arrival: Don was in fairly regular communication with links and info on the entry requirements for travel to the Bahamas. Detailed driving instructions on the comprehensive website also a relief as we were renting a car.as advertised. He also gave good tips about what to pack as some food costs on the island are quite high.

On arrival: We were delayed with our flights and couldn’t get our rental car (Thompson’s closes at 7 or 8pm and our flight was delayed – arrived at 8:10). Taxi to Harbourview was $60. He made sure we had water and a couple of drinks on arrival as the stores and many of the restaurants in the area were closed. He would have gone out and bought some supplies for us if we had informed him earlier of our late arrival! No surprises on the condition of the place on arrival. As advertised – big bedroom with a view of the harbour. Nice clean bathroom. Functional cooking space and a small living room. Great view from the deck with an outdoor shower.

The stay: Don was nice enough the first day to drive us into Gorgetown to facilitate our car rental pickup. One of the reasons we chose this location was to kiteboard Moriah Harbour Cay. Check out the flat water conditions on his website’s kiteboarding links to give you an idea why we kind of want to keep this location a secret. Unfortunately, Air Canada lost our kiting equipment for the first 48 hrs of our vacation and we missed a great 18-20kt day. We did manage to get over for a 14kt day but the rest of our 5 night stay there was not windy. He has a kayak that you can use to paddle over to the Cay. A sit ontop double kayak that actually accommodated our kiting equipment as well as the 2 of us. Regardless of the wind conditions, the Moriah Cay is magical. Beautiful postcard quality beaches (almost always deserted on our trips there), mangrove forests, and gin clear water. There was also some snorkeling (generally not great off the beach in Exuma) off the small kayak launch  beach. We did see a turtle and some coral with Angel fish among others. I must also give a shout out to Gail who was more than friendly and helped us out calling the airport when chasing up our lost luggage.

In summary, the accommodation and location was great and both Don and Gail will go above and beyond to ensure your stay is enjoyable. Highly recommended.

Thanks again guys for helping make the trip memorable for my son and I.
